Senior Housing Development

LAHC’s principal focus is developing senior independent/assisted living facilities in the Lake Agassiz service area. These facilities meet two prominent needs in the rural areas of the region. One is the need for housing that fulfills the needs and desires of senior citizens, while keeping them in their communities. The other is the need for affordable housing for young working families. Senior living centers address both needs by providing a unique "neighborhood" setting in a congregate facility and freeing up existing single family homes within the community and surrounding area, as seniors sell their homes.

Construction on Prospect Manor in Lisbon, North Dakota (Ransom County) was completed in August 2001 and is now fully operational. A second facility in Wahpeton, North Dakota (Richland County) was completed in June 2002, and is also in full operation. Two additional senior housing facilities, Hope Manor in Hope, North Dakota and The Page House in Page, North Dakota were completed in April and August of 2006 respectively.
